The whole grand design of the airport has received approval from the Vice President Boediono. This Agreement shall be submitted in the Meeting of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Development in the Office of the Vice President,Jakarta,May 24.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Tri S. Sunoko revealed,as a follow-up efforts, PT. Angkasa Pura II has made a detailed technical design or detailed engineering design (DED). Hopefully, the physical development of the airport construction could begin in early 2012.
Acceleration of the development process of Soekarno-Hatta absolutely done. It was given the amount of movement of passengers has nearly doubled the available capacity. Currently the number of passengers reached 44.3 million people per year. They are served by 14 airlines in domestic airlines and 41 airlines on international routes. Meanwhile, the current terminal capacity is only to serve 22 million passengers per year.
This project will increase the capacity of Soekarno-Hatta Airport to serve up to 62 million passengers per year by 2014. Estimated costs of Rp11, 7 trillion.
