Chan Ho Park Answers His Critics

Chan Ho Park is a relief pitcher for the NY Yankees. After performing horribly in the first game of the 2010 season, he pitched 3 innings of score-less relief in Game 3. Reporters asked him what was the difference, and he answered with brutal honesty.

I'm trying to assure myself that's it's okay to laugh at cultural mis-understandings, but I think to be honest I feel guilty and racist laughing at this. I will entertain thoughts in the comments section.

Unhappy Hipsters

Unhappy Hipsters is a website devoted to picturesque shots of purported lonely hipsters. The photos seem to be ripped out of various architectural digests, but the captions is what makes them brilliant. You can send tips in to unhappyhipsters@gmail.com.
Enjoy!
It was unclear how her life had become so riddled with obvious metaphors.

The Rent Is Too Damn High Party

The Rent Is Too Damn High Party is a political (?) party running in the upcoming General Election for the City of New York and County of New York. Hands down, it's the most awful website in the history of websites. It was made by a time-traveller from 1996, complete with bursting firework gifs. Precious.

However, what makes it awesome is their ridiculous song on loop. You can't not not not love it. A+.

Church Store Fail

Church Store Fail is an unintentionally humorous image from the failblog, showing the least appropriate thing to name a church goods store. Or most appropriate. Commenters, you decide. In any case, this image is appropriate for my finds today. Fail-tastic.

Awkward Yearbook Signatures

Awkward Yearbook Signatures is a tumblr blog about awkward yearbook signatures. THey have scans of the signatures, time and date, and a running commentary. Example:

"Give me my money back or I'll kick your ass."

--Longfellow Middle School, McLean, VA, 1994
“Gym class was great”? “You really cracked me up in science”? “Never change”? All such niceties go out the window when it comes to the end of the year and someone still owes you a petty amount of cash.

Incidentally, this site is 20x better when you listen to that one Ben Folds song as a soundtrack.

Internet Refill

Internet Refill is an image from juliasegal.tumblr.com. This is where I went today, when I ran out of interwebs. There was nothing good on the interblags today.

Dating Montage

Dating Montage is an 80's video-dating video on Daily Motion. Amazing.

So many questions & comments!
--Did that guy just seriously say, "no hamsters"?
--I'm interested in *no* phases of data processing.
--Oh Fred.

From Metafilter:
"WTH is a Donna Juanita? My best two minutes of googling come back with this. That seems a very specific dislike if that's what the guy at 2:55 is talking about. posted by mindless progress"

"Whoa, the guy at 2:43 is 25?! 25 going on 42?
posted by geoff".

"I do consider myself a 'refined valley dude.'
Something about the way he says it.... you can actually hear the quotes.
posted by Afroblanco"

"mindless progress: 'WTH is a Donna Juanita?'
A female Don Juan, ie. a smooth operator, seductress, a woman out to make a sexual conquest.
posted by idiopath"

"Oh, God, what is that word that's the opposite of schadenfreude? The one for the shared shame of seeing someone embarrass themselves? posted by maudlin "

People of Walmart

People of Walmart is a website devoted to mercilessly mocking Walmart customers of questionable fashion tastes. The site has gone viral and crashed a few hours ago, but since I checked it was back up.

It was founded by "three friends" after an "inspirational trip." The authors explain the purpose:
"This is purely for entertainment purposes and strictly limited to the outrageously bad / ugly / creepy / crazy shoppers. We don’t need to see pictures of you and your dumb friends dicking around at Walmart. There is no reason to send us pictures of people that are seriously and unfortunately handicapped so don’t be an asshole. We are trying to have some fun here and there is a difference between someone who is mentally challenged and a person who has a fu Manchu and is still rocking MC Hammer pants."

Enjoy!

PS: Why is there a Busted Tees advert in every single viral comedy site? Every single one.

OMG, how embarrassing: Lamebook

OMG, how embarrassing: Lamebook is an entry on the omgblog that is probably fake but entertaining nonetheless. Basically, a schmoe replies to all and admits infidelity to a string of acquaintances.

Awkward Jamie-Lynn Sigler Interview

Awkward Jamie-Lynn Sigler Interview is a video on Break.com of a disastrous ABC interview.

Lazy day, I'll let Buzzfeed explain:

"This ABC reporter decided to interview Jamie-Lynn Sigler about her Entourage plotline (in which she dates Turtle, the 'fat' guy), not knowing that she is dating Jerry Ferrara (who plays Turtle) [in real life]. This is the most entertaining thing Entourage has yielded in 4 seasons."

I Am Friends with Sluts [NSFW]

I Am Friends with Sluts is a blog about trashy women and barely hidden misogyny. People submit photos of slutty women and the authors make snarky comments about them.

Choice comments include,
  • "When all three stars light up you win a free coupon for Valtrex," [herpes medication]
  • "Not so much as an AA degree between the lot of us," and
  • "What do you mean that I 'sort of look like a dude?' I’m all woman. And silcone. And manface."

  • Enjoy!

How NOT to Make Kids Costumes is an article on costume pop that shows the best of the worst kid's costumes. The two best pictures are actually from the buzzfeed article about this link, shown here. This is all just a ruse to repost this picture, enjoy:

    There, I Fixed It

There, I Fixed It is a website about epic jury-rigs kludges. One image after another of things that really should not exist. According to the authors, "We celebrate these iconic images of mankind’s eternal struggle to hammer square pegs into round holes (with duct tape.)"

You can contribute pictures of your handiwork to thereifixedit@gmail.com.

    You Suck at Craigslist

You Suck at Craigslist is a website that shows spectacularly sucky or unintentionally funny/sad Craigs' list posts. Mostly it's just gross mis-spellings.

    According to the author,
"This started when I was trolling our local Craigslist in my continuing attempts to find interesting additions to our furnishings. I’ve decided that people suck at Craigslist, and I decided to provide illustrations to demonstrate this fact."
Yeah. Also, the one below is especially frightening. I mean, must you really add "INCOMING?" Insult, injury, etc.

The 9 Stupidest Products of All Time

The 9 Stupidest Products of All Time is a Huffington Post article rounding up the most useless products advertised on TV today.

Pretty spot on. Anytime the words "breakthrough in personal cleaning" come up in an infomercial, you know it's going to be a win.

As a side-note, I love how these round-up articles never stick to a good, standard number. It's always something random like "4 Most Epic Commercials from Your Childhood" or "9 Stupidest Products." The chosen number, invariably, is a product of the number of minutes article writer had to research before their lunch break, or the exact number of criteria-meeting Youtube videos that fit in the first search results page. Enjoy!

Man calls 911 over fast food

Man calls 911 over fast food is a CNN video clip about 9-1-1 abuse.

YES!!! This one goest out to all the dispatchers and EMS personnel who have ever dealt with a bullshit call. I don't think enough people know that you can get arrested for 9-1-1 abuse. Now you know, and the more you know... :)

    Clean is Happy

Clean is Happy is a commercial website for the Washlet. It's a bidet-lid for your toilets. Of sorts. JenK writes in explaining perfectly:

"This is a website for bidets, but the spokespeople awkwardly never mention that word...or anything else related to actually using toilets. It's entertaining watching them avoid the dirty while promoting fancy toilets. If you only check out one watch, 'why it's better'.

Also, I don't understand what's up with the engrish title.

Oh! Also, there are more awkward gems under the questions bar, 'How hard does the water come out?'
    ---'ranging from nice to nicer

    Great find!

    Open Range Ad

Youtube's Trigger Treats found today's worst image on the interwebs. There it is. An ad for Openrange, stating that they do bachelorette parties. Way to keep it classy, 502! That's Western Kentucky, including Louisville, for those of you who are google-impaired.

    Look at this fucking hipster

Look at this fucking hipster is a picture-fuelled Tumblr blog devoted to making fun of hipsters.

Also, this blog doubles as a hipster fashion idea catalog, depending on your personal stance on dressing duchebaggery. In addition to making fun of hipsters individually, they also feature "look at this love connection" where they pair hipsters together. "Beans" also makes repeated appearances.

    Enjoy!

    Mind-Melting Demo Disasters

Mind-Melting Demo Disasters. As New York magazine explains, "Some awesome anonymous country label has started a tumblr on which it's posting the worst (i.e. best) unsolicited demos it has ever received in the mail. They are all, without a single exception, fantastic."

I guffawed-out-loud at the Step Aerobics Class From Hell. Also, I embarrassedly kind of liked the track that sounds like something that was made on a 1988 casio keyboard... that is, until the singer started singing. It was all chill, pseudo-French and whimsical up until then. Then it was like, ew, no. Let's NOT get it on.   Anyway, the list of finds goes on and on. Enjoy!
